Dr Dan Rainolds MBBS; PGDipDHM
Dan was born in Yugoslavia in 1963 and graduated from Belgrade University Medical School in 1992. He has been a keen diver since then with an early interest in deep and decompression diving before 'technical diving' was forged and in 1993 he worked as a doctor for the local dive club.

Since then, Dan's work in rural and remote medicine has taken him to several unique locations around the Pacific basin. He spent 2 years in the Cook Islands, often as the only medical provider on a remote island. This allowed him a unique combination of challenging work and frequent diving in the clear, deep waters of the Pacific. Since 2003 he has been working primarily in Queensland, often in some of Australia's most isolated communities.

In 2004 he finished the Introductory Course in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney, and followed this a few months later by taking the Royal Australian Navy course for medical officers at HMAS Penguin, Sydney. From 2004 Dan worked part-time at the Wesley Center for Hyperbaric Medicine. In 2007 he was awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine, Auckland University, New Zealand. His special interests are in deep and decompression diving and their associated complications, and the use of hyperbaric medicine as adjuvant therapy in areas traditionally reserved for other fields of medicine.
