We are centrally located at the Wesley Hospital in Auchenflower

Wesley Hyperbaric is the first and largest fully accredited day hospital providing a comprehensive hyperbaric facility in Australia. We have hyperbaric-trained doctors and nursing staff in attendance at all times and this sets us apart from mild HBOT centres.

Our multiplace hyperbaric chamber can treat up to 8 patients at a time and additional compartments are used for emergencies and to facilitate our clinical research trials.

We also provide comprehensive and quality care for all acute and chronic wounds at our Advanced Wound Clinic.

Wesley Hyperbaric is located on the ground floor of the Sandford Jackson Building of the Wesley Hospital in Auchenflower.

Dr Fran Kinnear

Bsc, MB, ChB (Glasgow)
FACEM, PhD

Hailing originally from the Highlands of Scotland, Dr Kinnear completed her medical training at Glasgow University before emigrating to Australia in 1998.

Now a Senior Emergency Specialist, she honed her craft in a wide variety of environments across the continent, from roadside through rural hospitals to major referral centres.

Formally dual-trained to post-doctoral level, she also founded and headed a successful emergency medicine research group, publishing widely and winning several prestigious prizes for this and the associated practise-changing work.

Since joining the team at the Wesley Hyperbaric Unit, Dr Kinnear is now keen to utilise these skills and her honours degree in Immunology, to drive the delivery of quality care in the hyperbaric medicine arena.

She is also Deputy Head of year 1/2 Wide Bay Rural Clinical School, which is seeking to address the inequities in health care in the bush by training doctors in the rural environment.

When not working, she enjoys reading and yoga plus loves getting out in nature to garden or go cycling with her partner and their four very lively dogs!
