Dr Graeme KayMedical Director (B.Biomed Sci(Hons); MBBS; FRACGP; Dip DHM (SPUMS)) Dr Graeme Kay has been the Medical Director of Wesley Hyperbaric since 2015, serving as the Deputy Director from 2013-2015. Prior to starting at Wesley Hyperbaric he has had a varied medical career wearing many different hats; GP, hyperbaric medicine registrar at The Townsville Hospital, anaesthetic PHO and full-time rural relief doctor serving locations as varied as Hughenden, Ingham, Palm Island and Magnetic Island. He has a very keen interest in medical training and doctor’s welfare since serving as RMO president as a junior doctor in Rockhampton. He has been a SCUBA diver from the age of 15, started his training in diving medicine in 2003, and holds the qualification of Diploma of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine awarded by the South Pacific Underwater Medicine Society. When not working or diving, Graeme can be found enjoying the life of a stay at home dad with his wife and daughters.
Dr Keyoren FernandesVisiting Medical Officer (BMed, DCH, FRACGP) Dr Keyoren Fernandes started at Wesley Hyperbaric in early 2020. He previously worked in general practice and psychiatry, and still enjoys working part-time as a GP. He completed the Medical Officers’ Course in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine at Royal Adelaide Hospital in 2018, and has previously worked at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital Hyperbaric Unit. Outside of medicine, Keyoren likes to spend his time diving, sailing and travelling.
Dr Ohnmar AungVisiting Medical Officer (MBBS, FANZCA) Dr Ohnmar Aung has started at Wesley Hyperbaric in March 2016. She also works as an Anaesthetist at Redcliffe hospital. During her provisional fellow year in 2014, she spent 6 months as a provisional fellow at the Hyperbaric unit at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. This is the start of her keen interest in Diving and Hyperbaric medicine. She received her FANZCA in 2016. Dr Aung is undertaking research into Xerostomia for people who suffer from dry mouth after head and neck radiation. Dr Aung is a qualified diving medicine practitioner since 2014. Along with the professional team of nurses at Wesley Hyperbaric unit, Ohnmar hopes to use hyperbaric medicine to improve people’s quality of life.
Dr Tobias TrinksVisiting Medical Officer (MD, FANZCA, Dip DHM (SPUMS)) Tobias completed his training in Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany in 2004. We consider Tobi one of Germany’s finest exports who is now working at Logan Hospital as an anesthetist after completing his FANZCA in 2014. Tobias completed the RAN Medical Officers’ Underwater Medicine Course and the Medical Support of Offshore and Saturation Diving Course before receiving his Diploma in Hyperbaric Medicine in 2016. Tobi has been working at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital Hyperbaric Unit as a VMO and joined Team Wesley in 2016.
